Description
Photograph was edited for publication purposes.
Photograph caption dated November 20, 1953 reads "Investigate unknown trouble. When this call goes out over the air, it can mean everything--or nothing. Behind the closed door at the end of the ride there may be nothing more than a drunken domestic quarrel--or a deadly weapon in the hands of an insane person and death! This sort of thing has happened frequently since the last war with its subsequent influx of illegally possessed weapons." Valley Police headquarters was located at 6240 Tyrone Avenue, Van Nuys. The headquarters was later moved to 6240 Sylmar Avenue, a few blocks away.; See images #00135728 through #00135736 for all photos in this series.
