Description
A woman in dinner dress for June 1826. She wears a voluminous burgundy, copper and forest green hat made a bunched fabric. Large, white feather plumes cascade down from the side. She is adorned with long, dangly, gold, teardrop earrings and a double stranded gold necklace. Her dress is forest green with a straight neckline trimmed with white ruffles. A cameo with a black background and white profile, set in gold, decorates the center of her neckline. Two purple ribbons extend diagonally from either side of the cameo. Her sleeves have two parts: the top layer is a sheer leg-of-mutton style and the bottom sleeve is a simple, short puff in green. She wears a black bracelet on one wrist and a purple handbag with copper ruffles hanging from the other. Her arms are folded at bher waist and in her hand she holds a pink and yellow fan. The skirt of her dress is full length and forest green. Encircling the hem are two rows of copper and burgundy fabric, cinched at even intervals to create diamond shaped puffs. She wears a pair of white shoes.
