Photograph of a Caterpillar thirty and bean cutter, in Rio Vista, [s.d.]. Three men pilot the "caterpillar," a tractor-like device which cuts 12 rows of beans each time. Two men sit by the main engine, while another sits on a wing-like area above the cutting devices. The ground beneath the machine is muddy and cut into rows.
