Photograph caption dated December 1, 1958 reads, "Flames leap high into air behind home of Ted Maticka, near Monte Nido, during height of raging brush fire that swept over some 4,000 acres near Calabasas. Family had already evacuated, boarding up windows. Two cabins and one house trailer were destroyed by flames that were whipped by winds hitting 40-miles-an-hour at times."; See images #00114940 through #00114941 for all photos in this series.
