Description
This circa 1935 vegetable crate label advertises Red Rooster brand carrots, shipped by the wholesale produce firm A. Levy & J. Zentner Company. Originally based in San Francisco, the firm moved into the Sacramento area in 1926 after purchasing the Wood-Curtis produce company. In 1932 the firm moved from their first Sacramento location at Sixteenth and A streets to a newly built packing and shipping plant at nearby Sixteenth and North B Streets.
