Title supplied by cataloger. Located at 6122 Sunset Blvd. and built in 1976, the Gower Gulch shopping center site was once occupied by studio facilities for Universal and the Christie Film Company. Aware that the neighboring Columbia Drug Co. had long been popular among cowboy extras who used the store's payphone, the shopping center's developers incorporated elements of a Western-style backlot to pay homage to the area's unique history. Designed by William Lescaze and opened on April 30, 1938, CBS Columbia Square was once home to radio stations KNX 1070 and KCBS 83FM, as well as CBS Channel 2 television station. After CBS moved their operations from the site and new owners completed extensive renovations, NeueHouse, the members-only coworking company, began a multi-year lease of the property in 2015. Looking northwest from the Gower Gulch parking lot towards CBS Columbia Square, 6121 Sunset Blvd.. in Hollywood.
