Description
Michael Datcher discusses his book, “Raising Fences.” He begins by talking about his early life and his choice to live with his adopted family over the real family who gave him up. Martinson asks him to read a passage about his adoption and how he realized that he was different from his siblings. He describes how the book is about searching for belonging and acceptance, and having difficulties finding love. He talks about his involvement in a cult-like group called The Church of Christ and how he left the group after a year. Datcher discusses his current life and marriage, and Martinson asks him to read his and his wife’s wedding vows. He ends the interview by discussing how Miles Davis inspired him while writing this memoir.
