Description
Photograph of a Volcano street scene and saloon, 1936. At bottom center is a dirt road that runs to the center left and into the background. At right a dilapidated building is visible from the side. It is made from vertical wooden planks and has a shingled, inclined roof. The front appears to be made from horizontal wooden planks and has signs on the front which are visible ripping or falling down. To the left is a second building composed of various shaped stones. The roof is also shingled and inclining, and four archways are visible on the front of the building. A power line is visible to the left, and two tree stumps are visible in front of both buildings. A low wooden fence runs to the right, while a large tree is visible to the left foreground. Several automobiles are visible parked on the sides of the road, and tall trees are visible in the background. Photoprint reads: "The building on the right was once a saloon. On the wall is a sign dated 1879".
