Description
Hundreds of Los Angeles workers had valid excuses for being late to work, because traffic was so tied up by two accidents involving five vehicles on the Hollywod Freeway, near the Grand Avenue turnoff. Photo shows three of the cars, facing every-which-way after the boom-booms. Some typical quotes of drivers: The car in front of me stopped too quick...I swerved but too late...I stopped fast and the car behind me hit me...I lost control. Amazingly, no one was hurt in the mess! Man scratching his head was driver of car No. 1. Photo dated: June 2, 1954.
