The 157-acre manufacturing facility was dedicated on May 6, 1948; the plant closed in 1980 and was purchased by Northrop Grumman in 1982.
Aerial view of the Ford Motor Company, Mercury Plant site in Pico Rivera; view is looking southwest. Plant is located on the corner of Rosemead Boulevard and Washington Boulevard (streets that meet mid-photo, on the bottom corner of the large barren area). The Rio Hondo can be seen on upper center, parallel to Rosemead; El Rancho High School is visible on the lower right (with an oval track). Photograph dated July 15, 1955.
