Photograph was edited for publication purposes Photograph caption dated April 20, 1962 reads, "Dozens of hay bales spill across the Golden State Freeway at Scott Rd. in Burbank today after a trailer carrying the hay overturned. Police said Mickey Dale Tate, 24, of Fresno, driver of the semi-trailer and truck, lost control of his vehicle when it collided with a car as he tried to pass it. The cab plunged into the gully, the rear trailer overturned, and Tate was cited for speeding. But the hay day was no treat for freeway drivers as part of the 25-ton load blocked traffic for nearly four hours after the 4:15 a.m. mishap. Hollywood Freeway traffic was also hampered today when a truck collided with a second truck near Wilton Pl."
