Description
Handwritten note on reverse: Station at Rocky Point (Rhode Island) (An amusement park on Narragansett Bay). 1912 photo -- receiver shown. Wireless operator "Blind" Bill Ellis. Home-brew receiver - crystal detector. Bill is using 3000 ohm Holtzer-Cabot phones. Phones on table are 2800 ohm Brandes "Transatlantic Type" (Mine). Note ball & socket swivel joint -- steel head-band -- hard rubber covered. Also note the large variable condenser -- adjacent to coupler. This is a Bunnell (but has no nameplate). Bill though it was made by J. F. Arnold (N.Y.) but Raser is positive -- it's Bunnell. That one & mine are the only ones I have ever seen. Do you know anyone who has one? Photo -- Ed Cummings 1912
