Photograph of a Petaluma ranch home of General M.G. Vallejo between Sonoma and Petaluma, ca.1900. At center two portions of a two-story building merge together to form an L shape. At center part of the building is visible from the front, while another portion of the building is visible at an angle to the right. The building has a wrap-around porch on both stories with a wooden picket fence enclosing the second story's porch. The roof is sloped, and foliage is visible growing around wooden poles that hold up the roof. Grass is visible from the foreground up to the building. Photoprint reads: "Containing 80 rooms".
