Description
"M'Lange and District. Brickmaking. The Moulder and boys." Group portrait of young boys helping a workman outdoors. Most people in the M’Lange [Mulanje] district had moved there from the Zomba region or Mozambique. The original site of the mission, established by Robert Cleland, was near the village of chief Chikumbu. Endemic tribal warfare resulted in re-location and the site of the 'new' mission station at Linje was chosen by Rev David Clement Scott in 1891.
