Description: The Los Angeles library began observance of book giving week, during which citizens are asked to donate some of their books so that the library may continue to meet demands of 40,000 readers daily. Miriam Webb, Library Assistant, shows a rare volume given by Dr. H.F. Vollbehr, a fifteenth century book containing the decrees of Pope Boniface and bound in a cover on which hymns are printed. Photo dated: January 31, 1933.
