Description
This is a photograph of "Fr. Jacques with Duke and Burr, his dogs. The mission lies in a slight bend of river many hunded feet below." He is dressed warmly and the mountains are in the background.
Born in Ontario, Canada, Fr. Jacques came to Maryknoll in 1924 and was ordained to the priesthood in 1927. That same year he began his almost forty year mission work in Fushun, Manchuria. In 1948 he was assigned to Kweilin where he worked until he was expelled to Hong Kong in 1950. He spent many years in Taiwan.
