Photograph of an aerial view of the Midway-Sunset Oil Field in Kern County, 1920-1930. A large flat field extends into the distance and is dotted irregularly by tall wooden oil derricks. The derricks are taper to a point from the ground. Three large circular oil reservoirs are visible in the foreground. These reservoirs were used in place of tanks. A narrow road can be seen in the foreground at right.
