Description
View of the post office in Orland, Glenn County circa 1910 Orland Post Office was located for many years in the corner room of the hicks building at fifth and walker streets, built in 1908 of concrete blocks cast locally. The building also housed the hicks and chaney firm on the grounded floor. They operated a hardware and furniture store, sold farm implements and ran the local undertaking parlor in the back room. Dr. J.D. Edmundson had his office upstairs, and the Orland Unit was first published in one of the second story rooms. It also housed the library.
