Sydindien, Porto Novo (Parangipettai), 1978.

Description
South India, Porto Novo (Parangipettai), 1978. Seva Mandir, a Girl's Boarding School, from primary school to college. (The Porto Novo Mission. A Danish mission- and development work at the seaport, Porto Novo (Parangipettai), South India. The Danish Missionary Anne Marie Petersen (1878-1951) founded in 1921 a girl's school at Porto Novo, "Seva Mandir" - A Christian, Indian/National school, not connected to a specific confession, as the Porto Novo Mission expected a national Indian church to develop. After the death of Anne Marie Petersen, the school continued under Indian leadership, still supported from Denmark until 2007, where the Porto Novo Mission was dissolved, after almost 100 years of successful work. In 1999, Seva Mandir had about 2000 students from primary school to college).
