View of a man and his daughter inside of a harness shop in Orland, Glenn County circa 1918 Harness shop and saddlery, one of Orland's pioneer businesses, was located on the east side of fourth street. Seen in the photo are C.F. Schmidt, the proprietor, and his daughter, Edna, now Mrs. Harold Ingraham, who lives in the old family home at Fourth + Yolo Streets. After C.F. Schmidt's death, the business was carried on for many years by his son, Everett J. Schmidt. He took it through several translations, from harness to cloth auto tops and tire to electric appliances, radios and television sets, keeping up with the changing times.
