Caption above image reads, "MIYATAKE DOCUMENTARY--This 1943 photo taken at California's Manzanar internment camp during World War II was taken by photographer Toyo Miyatake who was honored at the Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles Thursday for his 50 years of documentary work." The Newspaper Photograph Collection is made up of photographs that were printed in the Long Beach Press-Telegram and Independent newspapers, between the 1950s and early 2000s.
