Images were chosen from family albums and include daily life, social organizations, work, personal and holiday celebrations, and migration and immigration activities. Description
Joseph and Marilyn Zeronian are an Armenian American couple born and raised in the Los Angeles area. Joseph was born in 1936 and attended Venice High School where he was ASB President and involved with both the football and track teams before graduating in 1954. Joseph attended the University of Southern California and following graduation in 1958, he served as a commissioned officer in the U. S. Navy. Joseph began a career in education in the early 1960s starting out as a Social Science teacher within the Pasadena school system before becoming an administrator for the Pasadena, La Canada and Los Angeles Unified school systems. In 1985, he switched professions and moved into a career in municipal investment banking. In 2000 he was asked to return to Los Angeles Unified School District to serve as the CFO before he retired four years later. Following retirement, Joseph was appointed Faculty Director of the Rossier School of Education at USC. Marilyn was born Marilyn Tangairian in 1936 and lived in Pasadena with her family. Marilyn attended South Pasadena-San Marino High School (South Pasadena High School) and graduated in 1954 before attending Occidental College. Marilyn and Joseph married in 1960 and had two children. The couple are members of the United Armenian Congregational Church and involved with several civic organizations and charitable foundations including the Armenian Missionary Association of America and the Armenian National Committee of America where Joseph served as President.
