Description
Ben Sherwood discusses his novel, “The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud.” He begins by explaining that his book is about a boy who makes a promise to his brother on their deathbeds to take care of each other. He talks about how his main character Charlie becomes a cemetery caretaker and watches over his brother’s grave every night. He describes how people can get stuck after a loved one’s loss. Sherwood talks about how he did research for the book, and worked as a cemetery caretaker to prepare for the novel. Martinson asks Sherwood to read a passage from the book about seeing ghosts. He ends the interview by talking about his writing process and that he wrote several complete drafts for the book.
