Photograph was edited for publication purposes Photograph article dated June 24, 1950 partially reads, "Training seals is a hobby of George Berger, gardener, of 14615 Magnolia Blvd., Van Nuys. But today he is giving special attention to 'Jimmy,' four-months old Alaskan fur seal, now making his home at Ocean Park. 'Jimmy' is unique, according to Berger, because he is the first seal of his kind ever found in the Pacific Ocean as far south as Santa Monica, where he was fished from the water."
