A two-story clapboard house with a wide porch covered in climbing roses owned by General George Stoneman on his Los Robles estate in San Gabriel (now San Marino, California). General Stoneman stands amid landscaped grounds to the left of the residence. On the wide front porch, are two women, four children, and a dog. Title transcribed from front of photo-mount. Date devised by cataloger; Watkins made two trips to Southern California, in 1877 and 1880. Printed on photo-mount below title: "From Watkins' Yosemite Art Gallery, Portrait and Landscape, 26 Montgomery Street, opp. Lick House Entrance. S.F." Image corresponds with Watkins New Series stereo #4397."
