Description
Photo shows 6 tons of art treasure being unloaded from a liner. The full size reproduction of "The Christus" by Bertel Thorvaldsen, Denmark's most eminent sculptor, is removed from the liner, Marine Leopard, to be taken to Forest Lawn Memorial-Park. Because of its gross weight of six tons, a lighter was required to remove the statue to shore. Photo dated: August 24, 1946.
