Photograph caption dated August 2, 1956 reads, "Lou Long, 65, veteran actor and community resident for quarter of century, scratches beard thoughtfully as he watches newcomers motor into Thousand Oaks to visit world famous Animal Jungle Compound. He stands beside familiar signpost on Highway 101 between towns of Oxnard and Agoura. Long is generally in cast of movie troupes that shoot circus sequences at compound."
