Description
Photograph of a fountain near the lake in Westlake Park in Los Angeles, ca.1900-1909. The three-tiered fountain is at center and is a tall structure with an elaborately carved base. A dirt path runs around the fountain, and low bushes border the path. The lake can be seen in the background at right, and two men are standing on the banks. A small, light-colored boathouse is visible on the shore in the distance. Many trees of different varieties can be seen, including palm trees. The name of the park was later changed to MacArthur Park.
