Photograph caption dated May 29, 1956 reads "One of the standout milers of all time, Gunnar Neilson [sic] of Sweden, will be among the many stars to perform Friday night in the Compton Relays where he is expected to oppose such four-lappers as Bobby Seaman of the UCLA Bruins. Neilson [sic] is co-holder of the metric mile record of 3:40.8."
