Description
Ramona Parlor 109 of N. S. G. W. together with La Mesa Club and Kiwanis Club of Newhall and Saugus, placed a temporary tablet over a mound of boulders which mark the spot where gold was first discovered in California by Francisco Lopez on March 9th, 1842, in Placeritos Canyon on the property now owned by Mr. Frank E. Walker who is pictured holding up the California Republic flag.
