Description
Photograph of the interior of T. V. Allen Co, showing an engraver putting finishing touches on the steel plates used in making Christmas cards, ca.1930. An engraver sits facing a table at left, working with "three plates (which) reproduce the original printing in every detail of color". The plates feature the image of a woman in a dress, a picture which sits before the engraver, left of the plates. On the wall, several large paintings of landscapes and women can be seen, while a window composes the area behind the desk at left.
