1989-1254. In: [Scenes of Sacramento] [manuscript] / Eugene Walter Hepting. [Sacramento, Calif. : E. Hepting, 1938?], Vol. C, leaf 28. View of a street corner with road in foreground; about center of the photo is the corner; to right of center stretches the street into distance with a wooden one story building on the corner; next to it is another 1 story wood building with wooden stairs with railing at its far right side; beyond are other wooden buildings with model Ts parked in front; on left is side of the block with cars parked in front of this side of the corner; tall leafless trees and utility poles run along both sides of the street corner. Walter Hepting was born in Sacramento (father was from Switzerland, mother from Germany). Worked for the State Treasurer's Office. Was amateur historian, collected old photographs and images of Sacramento. "'Carlaw Brothers' in business, same location since 1879... Before that, located at 10th & Q st." Carlaw Brothers business was marble, granite and commercial sand blasting.
