Description
From photo caption printed in the Sacramento Bee on June 19, 1969: "Workers at the Tahoe City Lumber Co. moved lumber and materials from beside the fast-rising Truckee River as water began flooding the lumber yard yesterday. The last two gates on the dam at Lake Tahoe that controls releases into the river were slowly opened today, a move which could cause more serious flooding at various downstream locations."
