'Twas the days before Christmas, and all through the house, not a creature was stirring... Except a crew of 70 technicians, a production staff of 20, an orchestra, a dozen or more performers, 50 children, three manned mobile television units and thousands of feet of cable. If this sounds a little offbeat from the usual picturesque Christmas scene, it's because it took place this week at the Valley home of a very unusual (but very on-beat) family. The scene was the spacious hilltop Royal Oaks home of Steve Allen and Jayne Meadows. The occasion was the taping of Steve's Christmas television show. Photograph dated December 21, 1961.; See images #00135845 through #00135855 for all photos in this series.
