Photograph caption dated March 31, 1943 reads, "Units of America's armed force allied with the people of Madame Chiang in the fight against tyranny followed the car in which China's First Lady rode in the parade through downtown Los Angeles. All along the line of march, crowds jammed the streets to catch a glimpse of the beautiful Chinese lady, one of the outstanding women of the world."
