The building opened in 1912 and was designed by John W. Wollett.
A view of the California State Armory building in Exposition Park, a rectangular, two-story building with basement and a columned entrance. Inside was a large drill hall and skylight. The building was constructed of red brick with steel and concrete interior. A large park with lawn and trees surrounds the building.
