Notes: reconnaisances have been made of the coast from southern boundary to mouth of the Columbia River preliminary surveys have been made of mouth of the Columbia River, Ewing Harbor, Humboldt Bay, Trinidad Bay, Bay of Monterey and San Diego Bay surveys have been made for light house sites at Point Loma, San Diego Bay, Point Conception, Point Pinos, Bay of Monterey, Fort Point and Alcatraz Island, San Francisco Bay, Humboldt Bay, and Cape Hancock mouth of the Columbia River surveys of the northern and southern shores of the entrance San Francisco and of Mare Island & Straits have been made for military and naval purposes.
