Description
Two young girls in the foreground among rubble and wood planks. In the background there is a large fort on a mountain. A body of water separates the foreground and the background.
This stereo shows a wide shot of the landscape in the background, which offers visual clues to the time and place. It is in my interpretation that this stereo attempts to show the devastations and impact of a war-torn city and it's native people, which might be a uncommon task for publishers in 1899.
