Description: Exterior view of El Cortez Hotel located at the northeast corner of 7th and Ash, in San Diego, Calif. View shows the central section of the hotel, 14 stories high (310 feet). Hotel is a concrete cast building with Spanish colonial revival details. Partial view of ornate arched entrance may be seen between the Cafe Cortez and the Pacifico Room. Note the architectural designs on the roofline. Date built: 1927. Architects: Walker & Eisen.
