Description
A real photo postcard promoting Benham's Indian Store, Los Angeles, California, USA circa 1915. The front has an image of an Indian woman seated on the floor and holding a young boy in what appears to be a traditional child carrier. On the floor might be some Indian-made rugs or other textiles. At the top left is the word "ANTICIPATION" while the number "1381" is at the bottom left. On the reverse is common postcard elements, such as a divided back area for the message and address, the words "POST CARD", a notation for where the stamp goes, the name and location of the publisher, and so on. Printed in red ink, however, over the address and message spaces is information about the store, including the address and telephone number, and the types of goods offered. Aside from some soiling and slight corner dents, the item has little wear or damage and is in good condition.
