The extensive portfolio of photographic artist Carol Westwood (1942-2011), a native New Yorker who lived in Los Angeles for many years, includes a diverse array of subjects: animals, nudes, American and European cities, and portraits. Additionally, she worked on special and still photography for numerous motion picture and television productions in Hollywood; the archive of her entertainment and celebrity images was distributed internationally by Gamma, Liaison International, Stone Images, and Getty images from 1988-2003. Facade view of Villa Sombrero located at 6101 York Boulevard on the northeastern corner of York Boulevard and Branch Street in Highland Park, Los Angeles. Villa Sombrero has been operated by Manuel Salazar and his family since the late 1970s. Due to a change with the land lease, Villa Sombrero was closed suddenly in 2008. Replacing Villa Sombrero was Felipe's Restaurant, which was open for only one year. In the fall of 2009, Villa Sombrero reopened with its original crew. Photograph dated May 1992.
