Description
Ledger containing 23 pages of paid school district bonds for Berryessa School District, each reading "The County of Santa Clara, in the State of California, for value received by Berryessa School District in said County, promises to pay for said Berryessa School District, and out of the Building Fund thereof, to C. T. Ryland or order, on or before Ten (10) years after date hereof, at the office of the Treasurer of said County, the sum of One Hundred (100.00) dollars, in Gold Coin of the United States of America, with interest thereon at the rate of Seven (7) per cent, per annum, payable annually, on the First day of January in United States Gold Coin, at the Office of the County Treasurer, on presentation and surrender of the interest coupons hereto attached. This Bond is issued by the Board of Supervisors, of Santa Clara County, under the provisions of Sections 1880 to 1888 inclusive of the Political Code of California, and in conformity with a resolution of said Board, dated September 5th 1883 and is redeemable at the end of Five years from date of issuance, at the pleasure of the Trustees of Berryessa School District. In Testimony Whereof, the said County, by its Board of Supervisors, has caused this Bond to be signed by the Chairman of Said Board, and attested by the Auditor of said County, with his Seal attached, this First day of October A.D. 1883."
