Photograph of an exterior view of the Shell Oil Company, showing a yard of tall cylinders, ca.1940. Many tall, dark cylinders extend from the floor of intersecting pipes below, machinery which sit at each of their tops. The platforms which support the machinery are connected by thin walkways which extend through the tops of all seven cylinders at center. Another set of similar cylinders stand in the background on the left while a long building stands on the right.
