Description: The photo caption printed in the Sacramento Bee on August 21, 1967 states: "Pillars which will support a section of the 2nd-3rd Streets Freeway, rise like a city skyline above the yards of the Southern Pacific Co. The traffic at left is headed for the I Street Bridge over the Sacramento River. When completed the elevated section will stand 45-feet over the yards. Completion is expected in 1969."
