Photograph caption dated August 9, 1961 reads "Five engine companies halted a fire that broke out in a Wilshire Oil Co. gasoline storage tank, 7905 San Fernando Rd., Sun Valley, 45 minutes after it started at 1:15 a.m. today. Battalion commander Bruce Milroy, who directed the firefighting operations, said a spark from a water heater ignited the blaze which scorched a nearby motel and damaged a gasoline tank truck."
