Description
Medium shot of seated, uniformed U.S. soldiers in camp writing letters or otherwise resting. Towels, canteens and bags hang from trees.
Underwood and Underwood sent many photographers during the Spanish-American War, and there were more stereographs produced of the Spanish-American War than any other war. Photographers took images of actions that occurred outside the battlefield, which created more interest. Most of the stereographs were produced and sold in boxed sets with a companion book, however this specific image has no reference to either of those things.
