Photograph of an exterior view of an unidentified hotel in Hornitos where President Grant stopped on a sightseeing tour, ca.1930. A two-and-a-half-story Cape Cod or Georgian style home can be seen at center, turned into three-quarters profile. The land around the hotel is cleared of plant life, but littered with light rubble. In the foreground, a narrow dirt path cuts by a pile of rock to the left. Grant stopped at the hotel in September of 1879 towards the end of his second term.
