Photograph article dated September 30, 1964 partially reads, "Supporters of a Santa Monica Mountain State Park yesterday obtained City Council approval for continuing a 'freeze' on new subdivisions in the mountains until after the Nov. 3 elections. The Council set Nov. 16 for further hearings on ordinances to implement the Santa Monica Mountain plan approved earlier by the Council. Also to be considered on Nov. 16 are plans for a Mulholland Drive scenic highway which will be necessary to serve anticipated growth in the mountain area." Photograph caption reads, "'Looks good, Jack' - Movie stars James Garner, right, and Jack Palance, appear at yesterday's hearing in the Los Angeles City Council Chambers on the Santa Monica Mountains park."
