Photograph caption dated December 11, 1957 reads "Maj. Adrian E. Drew is congratulated by his commanding officer, Maj. Gen. Chester C. McCarty, after setting new unofficial speed record in test of Air Force Voodoo at Edwards Air Force Base. Faulty camera kept record from becoming official and pilot will try again tomorrow or Friday for official record."
