Used by '"John Musser, who was a Captain in the Civil War and was killed in the Battle of Shiloh (Tennessee) in 1862 under General Grant's command" [qtd "The Harry John Denhart Story" by same]. Colt Model 1849 Pocket Revolver Note on dimensions: 11" (handle to front of barrel), 4 ½" (top of hammer to base of handle), and 1 ¼" tall (lying down on table). "Colts Patent No. 197 719". Patent numbers match on all parts - original. "Address Col SamL Colt New-York U.S. America" etched on barrel. Octagonal 6" barrel. 6 shot cylinder engraved with famous stagecoach robbery scene.
